Good Content
Learned some more about social
media again today. I was actually kind of amazed at how many media platforms
are actually out there. A lot of them I don’t even use like Google+ and
Pinterest. That doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t learn how to use them.
When learning these new apps learn
how to make it look presentable. For videos make a trailer and invite people to
watch it. Wear solid colors so you don’t distract your viewers with what you
are trying to get across. The art of social media is to gain followers, but to
also put out great works. Don’t just slop something together and hope people
like it. Take your time and learn how to post something the right way.
People want to follow someone with
good content. I know that there are a lot of people that don’t make good
content, especially in YouTube, yet are very popular. I have even done it
myself where I subscribe to someone because they seem cool at first, but they
never keep me watching because it is not that good of content. Now people like
Brendon North on Instagram or PewDiePie on YouTube do keep me watching because
in my mind they create some good content.
Social media and other forms of
media are also about preference. If you are a photographer, you are not going
to appeal to everyone. Some people only want pictures of animals and if you
take pictures of buildings you will never create good content in their eyes.
Well that is all I have to say about that, be true to yourself, but learn how
to create good content as well. People will follow you if you spread the word
and you will then find those loyal viewers or posters in time.
