Facebook Portal

Have any of you seen these new Facebook Portal devices? I guess it’s like a home bot that you can call people from around the world and it moves with wherever you go. Seems cool to me, but I wonder what other people think about it. What are the pros and cons to getting the portal device?

I was thinking it was cool that this device followed you wherever you went in the room which I don’t believe has ever been done before like on the Portal. It will allow you to feel like you are in the room with the person, even if you are half way across the world. It is also another tool that people can use to stay connected.

The cons on the other hand are that can be used as a tool to spy on people. The Portal even comes with a camera guard that you can put on it when you are not using it. It is a recording device that hackers can get into to spy on people. Especially with Facebook just getting off of a hacking mishap. People are scared that everything they do is being monitored by either the government or a hacker. Also, the cons of using it is that it makes people lazy. Instead of flying to be with someone they just use the excuse of using the Portal and that is their so-called quality time together.

It will be interesting to see what happens with this Facebook Portal. So far, the prices are starting at 200 to 350 dollars, depending on what Portal you get. I know I probably won’t get one, but if I did have the money to blow I would be interested in trying it out. That’s all I have to say about that, what are your thoughts on this new Facebook Portal?
