Three Tips That Are Outdated
More now than ever a lot
of companies are spending more of their marketing budget into social media. It
is a great way to reach a different audience and usually an audience of a
younger generation since those are the main users of social media. Companies also
pay influencers to promote their brand to again reach out to different people.
If your favorite YouTuber starts to promote a brand of clothing it might
influence you to also buy into the brand of clothing. There are three different
tips that marketers are using with influencers that do not really work anymore.
Tip one that is out of
date is that they should hire someone with a lot of followers to promote their
brand. They say that this does not work all the time because sometimes their
followers are not really engaged with what the promoter is promoting. The new
thing to do is to collect data on which influencer has a better community
engagement to see if the audience is the right target to go for.
The second tip that is
out of date is that you should control what the influencer should do with
promoting. They say this takes away the influencers voice, loyal followers will
see through the fake screen that is being put up by the marketer. They say you
should set certain ground rules with the product and then let the influencer
surprise you with what creative way they promote the product.
The third tip they say is
out of date is that you should let content die in social media. The tip is that
if an influencer posts something about your product that you shouldn’t use that
same post on your own social media. They say that is wrong and that you should
actually credit them with the companies own social media platform because then
it just influences more on another audience. With social media use increasing
every day your company needs to brand themselves and promotes themselves even
more.
These revised tips should
help any company with marketing a product when using influencers. I know some
of might favorite influencers are Legiqn and PewDiePie because they promote a
product in their own creative way. They just don’t throw out a scripted content
that the marketing team came up with. It is all natural and creative which is
what a lot of the followers want from these two gentlemen. That’s all I have to
say about that, hopefully these tips can help you in the future or maybe make
you think about who your influencers are.
