Mid-Term Elections Thoughts
With the 2016 mid-term
election coming up I thought I would talk a little bit about how they are
campaigning via social media. Election time brings it all the media to persuade
people to vote for their candidate. We get phones calls, see commercials, and
now with social media get ads for them. We see some type of election propaganda
24/7 during election time.
With social media you get
ads on your YouTube videos. See posts on Instagram about the candidate and what
they stand for. You see stories on Snapchat about what they are going to do
when elected. To be honest, I completely hate these election campaigns, but I
know usually candidates get more votes the more they put out there. The problem
with these commercials and ads, to me, is that they try to make the other
politician look bad. I would rather have a politician that just wants to tell
people about what he will do. Let the other politician make mean commercials
and make him look like a bully.
I just want election time
to be something that brings the nation together. Not something that divides the
nation due to our political views. I also don’t like campaigning everywhere I
go, like can we stop calling and sending out polls. I honestly don’t want
people to know who I vote for because I feel like people stereotype to much due
to your party. We are all humans and we all have feeling. None of us are free
from sin and none of us are going to be perfect that is why I just want someone
that is trustworthy and honest with their supports. Well that’s all I have to
say about that, get out and vote.
It would be really nice if candidates were just straight up with their beliefs. I agree with you, I'm tired of seeing negative ads all the time. I'm also really tired of seeing ads that are all sunshine and rainbows and paint the candidate as an ultra-likable, down-home, for-the-people guy. These old people running for office seem to have no idea that young people see right through that. Happy Election Day though, go vote!
