My Personal Thoughts on Social Media
While on Twitter today I started
wondering what other people use Twitter for? I mainly use it for famous quotes,
sports, and just weird things (memes). It is a way to see social media posts by
people of your own age. Reason why I don’t go to Facebook for social media is
that it seems like an older generation uses it. It seems to me that what I post
or share on Facebook is just going to have the older generation either be weird
with the post or try to argue with me. I had a friend post a song lyric on his Facebook
post once and he said he had two older women both ask why he was depressed. He
honestly only posted the lyrics because he loved the song so much.
That’s why I don’t use
Facebook anymore because the older generation to me just doesn’t get social
media the way I use it. I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but it’s how
my mind works. I mainly use Twitter to reach out to my own generation. I send
funny and stupid gifs to them or post of silly trends like the map one that is
going around. I use all the social media apps differently. I use Twitter for
funny posts, IG for photography, and Snapchat to socialize. Well that’s all I
have to say about that, what do you use social media for?
I definitely think that Twitter is the most funny and fun loving platform, and its a platform where you dont have to filter much of what you say. I use instagram most and use it to post funny things about my life; I love to make people laugh!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you as to different aspects of social media are used different throughout the different generations. Being 21 I still like to go on Facebook to see my older family members post pictures of their child or talk about recent trips that they have taken. Since a lot of family have moved away and aren't just 10 minutes down the road from me it's nice to keep up with them through Facebook. I do like using Twitter as well. Like you said I think it's more attracted to the younger generations which allows me to see a sense of connection.
