Measuring Social Media
In my social media class,
we are starting to learn about how to measure your social media accounts. You can
count via quantitative or qualitative data. You should measure what you are
posting, if people are liking and following you accounts, as well as how often
people are visiting your site. This made me start to wonder, what am I doing
with my social media accounts?
On my Instagram account I
have 501 followers, I am following 772 accounts, and have posted 70 pictures.
On average I get about 70-80 likes on each photo with me posting usually photos
of my life. Recently though I am starting to get into photography, so I am
wanting to post pictures with some of my better shots while out in the field.
My Twitter is a little
weaker because I never used it until recently. I have 194 followers and I am
following 293 accounts. I had Twitter for two years back in high school then
deleted it, but then re-downloaded it freshman year at ONU. I usually don’t post
anything unless it is some musical lyrics that really speak to me. Then of
course the retweets and responses that I tweet to people. Mainly I use Twitter
to laugh at something or see cute animals.
It is amazing to think
that I am friends with almost 800 people, if you add both Twitter and Instagram
followers and take out the doubles. Social media can bring people together from
all over the world and therefore I love this type of media. It has its pros and
cons, but at the end of the day it connects and helps us learn more about each
other as human beings. That’s all I have to say about that, how is your social media
measured?
I manly use Twitter to laugh at something or see favorite artist's posts. For me, thanks to social media, I can get in touch with my friends all over the world after I go back to Japan. I love this type of media too!
