YouTube Boxing History

I am sure if you love social media as much as I do and if you watch YouTube you have seen stuff about this Logan Paul and Jake Paul vs. KSI and Deji boxing match. It has blown up social media and has become a historical moment they say. Before I get into the boxing fight I wanted to just let people know who these people are.

The Paul brothers first gained fame in 2013 with the internet video app called Vine. After Vine started to lose its popularity, the brothers started making Facebook and YouTube videos. They then moved to Los Angles to live the celebrity life with the thousands of dollars they were making from ad revenue. Even though they both have a lot of loyal followers, both have had their rough spots.

Jake Paul became a Disney actor and Team 10 (YouTube group) leader, to which after traumatizing his neighbors and drama on YouTube with Team 10 members he was kicked off the Disney show. Logan Paul became an actor/director in film and was making a name for himself with his clothing line. Logan then made some not so friendly videos with a suicide video and songs that he had wrote and made videos for. With that both brothers have not lost all their stardom and most people still watch them.

KSI and Deji are also YouTube star brothers who have made a name for themselves. Though not as famous, the British youtubers have over 19 million subscribers with their song writing and video gaming channels. KSI has had some problems with his fame from leaving his group The Sidemen and creating diss tracks about each other. He was then deported from America for an incorrect visa. He rejoined The Sidemen in 2017 saying that his beef and reasoning for leaving The Sidemen earlier was because they needed content and views.

Now with all four of these men being huge YouTube stars of course they knew how to make their boxing match an enormous event. They had everything a real boxing match would have with big interviews and weigh-ins before the event and numerous disses at each other on social media. Well on August 25^th the fight between YouTube stars happened and the first fight Jake Paul vs. Deji ended up with Jake Paul winning due to a TKO. The bigger fight, Logan Paul vs. KSI, ended up a big disappointment to some with it ending in a Draw.

This being such a memorable fight with big YouTube stars it is no wonder people are calling it one of the most historical social media moments in history. My thought about the fight would honestly be that it is just a way for both to get views and popularity. I don’t really follow either men and didn’t really care that much about the fight, but it must have been a big deal with it being a trending topic on YouTube, Twitter, and other social media platforms. Well that all I have to say about that, I hope it was a little informative especially if you have never heard of either man.
